We both go to school at South View Middle School. Although very focused on our grades and education, we don't hesitate to get involved in extracurricular activities and other things outside of school. We both enjoy being in the water; one of us is a competitive swimmer, the other a synchronized swimmer. We would like to make a difference in our community and especially help people that aren't as fortunate as we are. This is how we plan to do it.
What We Are Doing and Why
We plan to help people who don't have what we do. We want to help people with cancer and the people around them. Especially the kids. Kids should be growing up with their own hopes and dreams, loves, talents, and things that they are wanting to do to grow up. Childhood is a time for discovery: of themselves, of others, and of their world. They shouldn't be focused on their parent's or loved one's recent diagnosis. We want to help these people out! We both have different stories about how cancer has touched us in some way.
Chloe: Last year when I did this I was only focused on helping people out, until I met someone who was experiencing a child with cancer. She was so touched by our hard work, that I wanted to touch as many people as I could with our money that we raise for them. We ended up giving them the money, and the child has been doing well. I want to help even more people like this because of how touched the parent was.
Maggie: I have always wanted to help people with cancer. When my fifth grade teacher introduced me to the Angel Foundation, I knew I wanted to do more. After fifth grade I wanted to become a pediatric oncologist, so I could help even more people. By helping put on this run, I hope that I can make a difference in some people's lives.
How Do We Plan to Do This
We are going to be hosting a run for cancer to raise money for the Angel Foundation. Go to the home page of this website for more information.
